Bharatanatyam

Bharatanatyam is a major form of Indian classical dance that originated in the state of Tamil Nadu hundreds of years ago.

Bharatanatyam style is noted for its fixed upper torso, bent legs and knees flexed (Aramandi) combined with spectacular footwork, and a sophisticated vocabulary of sign language based on gestures of hands, eyes and face muscles Nrithyanjali’s core attribution to the art Bharatanatyam emanates from the adherence to the art but further infuses Modernism in its productions of Bharatanatyam. A well-observed reflection of the society embedded in conservative and contemporary approach has been the strengths of how Smt. Kaveri Ramesh has envisioned her path. Students of NSA enjoy this modern approach that has incorporated nuances of performances in pure dance based on non-religious ideas and fusion themes.
